Tim Castro spent nearly 2 decades in the United States Marine Corps, leading a rapid recovery team through multiple overseas operations and earning a Navy Achievement Medal for his logistics work in Iraq. Now, he’s applying those hard-won leadership lessons to a different kind of mission: helping business owners and emerging leaders build organizations grounded in faith.
Castro founded 12 Stones Strategy, a firm that integrates biblical principles with business consulting, career counseling, and leadership coaching. Unlike traditional consulting firms that focus solely on profit margins and growth metrics, his faith-based consulting services emphasize stewardship, integrity, and what he calls “kingdom impact”—measuring success by the legacy left behind, not just the bottom line.
The approach comes from Castro’s unusual combination of credentials. After serving as a Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge in the Marines, he earned his MBA—graduating as valedictorian from California State University, San Bernardino’s 2018 class—and completed doctoral studies in organizational development at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He’s also created and sold multiple startups, served on nonprofit boards, and holds certifications as a master life coach, business consultant, and Christian counselor from organizations including the CPD, NCCAP, CMA, IPHM, and ICAHP.

Beyond Traditional Business Consulting
What sets 12 Stones Strategy apart is its integration of faith into every aspect of organizational development. Castro uses proprietary faith-based personality assessments alongside conventional business strategy tools. His work has attracted attention from major publications, with features in Forbes, USA Today, and the LA Times.
His recently published book, “The 12 Stones Strategy: Biblical Principles for Strategic Leadership and Organizational Transformation,” earned him finalist status for the 2026 International Impact Book Awards’ Author of the Year. The book, along with his other published work “The 1 Step Program,” outlines his methodology for leadership coaching and organizational transformation through a faith-centered lens.

A Growing Market for Faith and Business Integration
Castro’s target audience spans business owners, students preparing to graduate, and emerging leaders—essentially anyone looking to align their professional decisions with their values. The firm helps individuals discover what Castro describes as their “god-given calling,” then equips them with practical tools to lead with conviction and clarity.
Looking ahead, Castro aims to expand his speaking calendar, appear on major business and faith podcasts, and publish five more books. For business leaders tired of strategy that prioritizes short-term gains over lasting impact, his approach to business strategy and career counseling offers an alternative: building something that endures by keeping faith at the foundation.
