Starbucks has officially announced that its annual Red Cup Day will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025. This eagerly anticipated event marks the beginning of the holiday season for the coffee giant and offers customers a chance to receive a complimentary reusable red cup with the purchase of any handcrafted holiday beverage.
Red Cup Day is a longstanding tradition at Starbucks, typically occurring in mid-November. In previous years, the event has been held on November 14 in 2024, November 16 in 2023, and November 17 in 2022. The 2025 date aligns with this pattern, falling on a Thursday in the middle of the month.
To participate, customers need to order a handcrafted holiday beverage on November 13. The holiday menu for 2025 includes six beverages: Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, Iced Gingerbread Chai, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Eggnog Latte. These drinks can be enjoyed hot, iced, or blended as a Frappuccino.
In addition to the beverage offerings, Starbucks' bakery case will feature holiday staples such as the Snowman Cookie, Cranberry Bliss Bar, and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish. New items for this year include the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread. The company is also introducing a special whole bean coffee lineup, consisting of Thanksgiving Blend, Christmas Blend, Christmas Blonde Roast, and Holiday Blend.
The reusable red cups are available while supplies last and are limited to one per customer. They serve as both a festive keepsake and a sustainable alternative to disposable cups. Customers can enjoy a 10-cent discount on their drink by bringing the cup back into the store, and Starbucks Rewards members will earn 25 bonus stars for using the cup.
It's important to note that not all Starbucks locations participate in Red Cup Day, and supplies are limited. Customers are encouraged to check with their local store for availability. The promotion is expected to be one of the busiest days on Starbucks' calendar, with previous years seeing long lines and cups selling out in just minutes.
For those eager to get a head start on the holiday season, some seasonal flavors, such as Peppermint Mocha and Hazelnut Cocoa, are already available in stores. However, the full holiday menu, including the Red Cup Day promotion, will officially launch on November 6, 2025.
